However, in recent years, the river-side Texas city has become a hub for startup activity, spurred by the innovative minds and companies that descend on the city once a year. With 84 companies within the Inc. 5000, Austin has shown proven its meddle in the discussion of tech hubs around the country. If you're interested in seeing which companies calling Silicon Hill home are in the top 10, take a look at the list below:

To take the second place spot, their revenue grew 3,270 percent in three years, grabbing $4 million in 2016.

3. Facility Innovations Group

Facility Innovations is a facility management services provider. We will work with you to customize a cost effective services and cost benefit programs. Their revenue was $2 million in 2016, which represents a 1,808 percent increase from 2013.

4. Local Web Leads

Local Web Leads is an experienced PPC management agency offering Google adwords management, as well as other internet marketing solutions with transparent reporting and flat rate management fees. The company posted three-year revenue growth of 1,325 percent, leading to 2016 revenue of $4 million.

5. Becker Wright Consultants

Becker Wright Consultants is a full-service boutique recruiting firm specializing in staffing and mid-level to executive searches that enjoyed revenue increases around 1,222 percent since 2013, hitting $3 million in 2016.

6. Texan Allergy and Sinus Center

The Texan Allergy and Sinus Center is providing safe, effective, modern treatment for Texas sinus and allergy sufferers. Revenue has grown 1,067 percent since 2013, which came out to $13 million in 2016.

7. CCR Roofing

CCR Roofing is the Midwest's premier commercial and residential roofing contractor, servicing both residential and commercial clients. In three years, they've seen revenue growth rate of 912 percent, which comes out to about $8 million in 2016.

8. Nulo

Nulo is a pet food company dedicated to keeping man's best friend healthy. They sell a product that is grain-free and low-carb for your furry friends. Nulo enjoyed $20 million in revenue in 2016, up 853 percent from 2013.

9. Clearhead

Clearhead is a digital optimization company helping daring brands optimize their business outcomes through continuous testing and personalization. In three years, their revenue has grown 842 percent with $6.9 million in 2016 revenue.

10. OutboundEngine

OutboundEngine is a marketing technology company that helps businesses grow by making online marketing simple. The company’s SaaS platform automates email marketing, social media posting, online review collection and more for over 10,000 customers. Their revenue has reached $18 million in 2016, growing 777 percent since 2013.
