SWOL (Soccer Without Limits), a South Florida engagement platform for international soccer fans, has been chosen to be part of a new accelerator and fund Momentum, founded by Mobile Monday Silicon Valley’s Mario Tapia and Ryan Bloomer, as well as Hidden River Ventures’ Todd Parker. Momentum helps mobile startups connect with industry ‘strategics’ to speed customer traction, line up investors, and dramatically grow their businesses.
SWOL will join a class of startups that will be provided with direct investment, extensive business development resources, and a 12-week intensive program consisting of workshops taught by industry leaders, office space at DG717 and mentorship. After the twelve week program, the startups will continue to have access to advisors for the life of the company.
“We are ecstatic to have been one of the companies selected into Momentum’s accelerator program. Their proven track record in the mobile space combined with the huge fan engagement and viewership numbers coming out of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, make it perfect timing for SWOL to connect Silicon Valley to the international soccer market,” says Adam Davis founder and CEO of SWOL.
Momentum’s previous class of nine startups raised more than $16+ Million in outside venture funding from investors like Google Ventures, NEA, True Ventures, Anthem Capital, Crosslink Capital, Band of Angels and others.
“Mobile is what we know and it’s who we know, which is why Momentum can help mobile startups gain footing in a crowded and competitive vertical,” said Mario Tapia, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Momentum.
