Unfortunately, due to work, time money, etc. a lot of us are unable to take lessons, or dedicate the time to sit down and learn. With the advancement of technology in music industry, we have now many software & apps which are ideal for anyone who has a busy schedule or a tight budget but still have zeal to learn. With this in mind, I have listed 5 of the best iPhone apps that will actually help you learn Guitar.
For Chord Dictionary
GuitarToolkit ($2.99) – It is perfect for those with an interest in multiple stringed music instruments. It provides an easy to use tuner, metronome, chords and scales so all you really have to worry about is playing your heart out. It has a search function where you can search a particular chord that you don’t recognize, or you can check out the library where you can listen to over 2,000,000 chords, scales and arpeggios to get an idea of what they sound like. You can even create your own chords and then share it with your friends.
For Backing Tracks
Guitar Jam Tracks (free) – It is particularly great for beginners as it is not only very user friendly but also shows you where you need to put your fingers while playing right from your iPhone or iPad. As you learn and become familiar with the chords, you are then able to practice what you have just learned with step by step instructions.
Guitar Tuna (free) – It is super handy for fine tuning a variety of stringed instruments. Ultimate Guitar Tabs ($2.99) – It is the ultimate all in one app. Not only does it teach you how to read, recognize and play, but it has an extensive library with over 800,000 songs, lyrics, chords and notes including some of the most current popular songs. You are able to select your level of difficulty, search whatever it is you are looking for without having to scroll through page after page, and you can even use it offline.
All of these apps are great whether you are just beginning or are you are just looking for a little inspiration. No matter what the reason, or instrument, you will most definitely be rocking out in no time and will take that stage or fire side like a champ.
