I knew it was new addition to the home, not because I actually saw it, but because of the ‘tick… tick… tick…’ that caught my attention as I rested in bed.
The day had been a long one, full of phone calls, meetings, and attempting to help my wife with the little ones running around our home. I was looking forward to finally resting, and the annoying TICK caught me off guard.
“Every second in your life is important, every second, and time management allows you to enjoy and embrace the moments we call life.” — Wayne Sutton
The clock is an important part of our life. We wake up by it, perform daily functions around it, and even go to sleep and rest based on the ‘Tick-Tock’ of the powerful clock. Yet, as my wife’s latest investment into our home kept me awake, I began to think about time management and how we manage our time is exactly how we will live. Prosperity or poverty are determined by time and how you use that time for your advantage!
However, this article is not about how you manage meetings, batch your activities, or schedule or reschedule your life… nope. This article is about that annoying ‘tick-tock’ that kept me awake. And the lesson I learned from it can help you as well.
Keep on Going
Persistence and resilience are key attributes of the truly successful. When you are looking at the world face-to-face, as you look at the daily activities and opportunities, we must be willing to keep on ticking, to push forward, despite any setbacks, failures, and daily defeats. It may be a simple point, yet one that can keep you going forward, as you allow the clock to be a simple reminder to keep moving forward.
The clock is more than a timepiece, it is a reminder for my life: Despite outward circumstances I must continue to keep on ticking and moving forward. When you look at your life and the time you have in a day, do you have time or does it have you?
I invite you to, like me, allow every clock you observe to be a reminder of the resilience and persistence needed to push towards your dreams and goals. Time management begins with managing your mindsets and beliefs.
