Who Can Apply?

While Tech.Co aims to provide support to the best of the best, we are not in the business of furthering already successful companies. That’s why we require startups in the competition to be less than 4 years old that have received less than $3 million in funding. In addition, companies must have a tangible product or service available to show us. We are a very trusting company but business plans aren’t going to cut it.

When Can I Apply?

The application process closes on July 8th. Startups must complete the application before then to be considered in the competition.

Once startups have been entered, reader polls will run from July 25th to August 5th in order to get a better idea of which company is making the most waves on our websites. Tech.Co staff and selected judges will also be weighing in on which companies should take home the gold.

Most importantly, companies will be notified of their acceptance into the competition on July 20th and will be informed of their acceptance into the semi-finals (at Celebrate 2016) on August 10th.

Why Should I Apply?

Other than the ultimate bragging rights, the Tech.Co Startup of the Year Competition has yielded some incredible prizes for winners. While they are still being finalized for the 2016 competition, our prizes in 2015 showed the world we were serious about giving the winning startup some love. We gave out a total of $250,000 in prizes to startups that placed in the top 5, as well as paired them with top accelerators like Tech Wildcatters, DreamIt, Crowdfunder, Techstars, and 500 Startups.
