Kristi Saucerman of Auction Frogs: “There Is No Absolute Balance” between Work and Personal Life

As founder of Auction Frogs, Kristi Saucerman is constantly dashing around, multitasking, and doing lots of juggling. But it all boils down to one purpose:

“Kristi’s passion, dedication, and commitment to help others drive her both personally and professionally and is the heart and soul of the company,” her bio explains.

Professionally, Saucerman helps charities raise money with tools to launch online silent auctions. She spent 12 years managing events for charities herself, so she’s acutely aware of the benefits of bringing the bidding online: auctions can last weeks rather than hours, reach more people, and require less manpower. Charities can also organize their contacts and quickly communicate with past donors.

Auction Frogs tries to differentiate from sites like BiddingForGood and with low fees. They also organize “corporate volunteer challenges” where volunteers compete to create auctions for their favorite charity and spread the word – with winners featured on the “frog blog.”

On the personal side, Saucerman is a wife and mother of two. She spends coffee-fueled mornings in her office until her daughters get home from school – so, naturally, I asked how she balances work and personal life:

“I get asked [that] all the time and I finally figured out what the proper response is. There is no absolute balance, it's just one big LIFE which includes family and running a business,” says Saucerman, who packs a lot of enthusiasm into her 5-foot “ish” frame.

Hailing from Boise, Auction Frogs is demoing at our Tech Cocktail Boise mixer next Tuesday.
