A healthy life starts in the kitchen, and Kevin Curry, the founder of the popular Fit Men Cook community, knows that. But he had to find out on his own while busting some of the kitchen-related myths that circulate around. For example, eating healthy is an expensive “hobby.” Well, it isn’t, Curry says.
To corroborate his claims, Curry has launched a new iOS app, entitled Fit Men Cook, in which he shares over 100 of his most popular recipes. The app didn’t adapt the freemium business model, but the minute you download it, you understand why: what you get is a feature- and media-rich, vibrant iOS app, packed into an easy-to-understand, intuitive user interface.
I especially loved that you don’t just get the recipe; you get important information such as calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat content, so for the first time, you get 100% of the Apple-developed Health app. Fit Men Cook integrates with HealthKit, so you can see your nutrition throughout the day.
Another neat feature is the shopping list. Forget about creating a shopping list on your own: Fit Men Cook does that for you. If you find a recipe you like and want to try out, just select “Add to Shopping,” and you are good to go. On top of that, Fit Men Cook also has an Apple Watch app, which is there to help you while shopping: you can tick off items right from your wrist as you add them to your cart.
Fit Men Cook is available in the App Store for $2.99 [download link].
