Dating App Clover Offers On-Demand Dating

Is it just me or has online dating turned into a vast swiping wasteland?  And what about that stomach drop feeling you get when you accidentally swipe left when you meant to swipe right, and your potential future MFL (Mate For Life…I just made that up) is gone forever? It happens more often than it should, because, lets be honest, most of the prospects out there are no-brainer left swipes.

Clover is a new dating app that has analyzed all of the downsides of online dating and are attempting to turn it into a more satisfying experience. They have embraced the game changing aspects of mobile dating apps; and realized that most of them are pretty inefficient. They are cluttered with too much quantity and not enough quality (I’m looking at you Tinder). And too much texting with not enough meeting . How many people do you think are on Ok Cupid looking for a pen pal?

The Clover app, with the tagline “swipe less, date more” is currently a featured under the “Best New Apps” in the Apple App Store. This announcement comes in addition to a recent app redesign and the creation of an app for the Apple Watch, which may have had something to do with Apple featuring them.

“We jumped out of our seats when we saw the email from Apple saying they wanted to feature Clover in the App Store,” says Isaac Raichyk, CEO of Clover. “Our team has worked very hard over the past year, it’s nice to see so many positive reviews. Our goal is to provide the best mobile dating service possible and based on what users are telling us so far it seems like we are definitely on the right track.”

Their hard work has lead to a 1300% increase in daily downloads and over 600 reviews in the App Store. One of the features that sets Clove apart from other mobile dating sites is their On-Demand dating option. With this, the app will find someone who wants to meet you, and if you agree to the date, you just confirm a place and time with them. It’s a good way to force you out there, especially if you tend to overanalyze every potential date.

Online dating is tricky. There are so many options out there and it can be intimidating and overwhelming (we’re talking dating sites and the people on them). However, just with anything else, there’s always room for one more, especially if they set themselves apart in some way. Clover is hoping to become the Facebook of the mobile dating space. That’s quite a lofty goal, but who knows, maybe they have a shot.
