It’s been called (by us) the Warby Parker of art framing. This DC startup has created an easy online and mobile service for custom framing. It’s an in demand service that people want, and the company has been growing steadily. They have gained support from backers such as Steve Case and Tim O’Shaughnessy, and have just announced a new addition to their team.
Framebridge has recently appointed Anthony Vicars, former Director of Fulfillment Operations for Zappos, as their vice president of operations. Vicars has been brought on to help optimize Framebridge’s customer and employee focused operations, design and implement new systems to improve order fulfillment rates, and drive customer retention.
“It’s an opportunity to build something great, which is very rewarding,” Vicars said in a statement. “And you’re building this business that is focused on making people happy and enhancing these amazing items they’ve collected throughout their lifetime. It’s very exciting.”
Vicars will play a role in leading the development and site selection of new production facilities, overseeing site start-up operations, team growth, and training and additional facility supervision. With his help, Framebridge plans to expand its current operations to accommodate increased sales and grow their team. They hope to create over 50 new manufacturing jobs over the next 12 to 18 months.
“We’re very excited to have Anthony join the Framebridge team,” said Susan Tynan, founder & CEO of Framebridge, in a statement. “Our mission has always been to provide an outstanding, personalized customer experience marked by an expertly crafted final product. Anthony’s proven history of improving service and operations for some of the world’s leading eCommerce brands is the perfect complement to further enhance our processes.”
