15 Fastest Growing Tech Companies in Chicago

Being from Chicago comes with a certain amount of pride. Whether it's because the sports teams are so good, the winters are so bad, or the startup ecosystem is so great, the Second City breeds a level of confidence unseen around the world. And with success stories like GrubHub and Groupon, there's no wonder entrepreneurs brag about being from the Windy City, particularly when they're leading one of the 15 fastest growing Chicago companies in the city.

Thanks to some impressive data from BuiltIn Chicago, the fastest growing companies in Chicago are more apparent than ever. Based on local employee count, they were able to rank the fifteen companies that accounted for 3,642 of the approximate 7,000 tech jobs added in Chicago this year.

Take a look at these rapidly growing Chicago companies below and make sure to keep an eye out for the Windy City; we're coming for ya.

1. Performics – 316 net employee increase

Performics is the leading provider of performance marketing services and technological solutions in the SEM industry.

2. NetSuite – 122 net employee increase

NetSuite provides donate & discount accounting and ERP & CRM software to help social enterprises expand their impact.

3. OppLoans – 60 net employee increase

OppLoans is the trusted home for fast, affordable personal loans with quick approval and lower interest in the click of a button.

4. EZLinks Golf – 75 net employee increase

EZLinks is the leader in golf shop technology providing operational software and revenue management tools for the top golfers in industry.

5. Google – 595 net employee increase

Google's Midwest headquarters is located at Fulton Market in Chicago. Since opening in December 2015, they've expanded substantially. While it's hard to know for sure how many employees they have, but estimates put it at nearly doubling this year.

6. Uber Chicago – 300 net employee increase

The popular, albeit scandal-ridden ride-sharing company set up shop in Chicago and nearly doubled its employee count this year alone. They told BuiltIn Chicago that they are far from finished, so further increases could be on the horizon.

7. Snapsheet – 67 net employee increase

Snapsheet, an app for smartphones and the web, allows users to receive bids and get auto repair estimates from local autobody shops.

8. Glassdoor – 55 net employee increase

Glassdoor is the most transparent jobs and recruiting marketplace. They offer an inside look into what it's really like to work at hundreds of thousands of companies in 190 countries.

9. Next College Student Athlete (NCSA) – 232 net employee increase

Whether you are a high school freshman or a late-blooming senior, NCSA helps take the stress of uncertainty out of your recruiting journey by putting a plan in place to help you find your best college options.

10. Sprout Social – 135 net employee increase

Sprout Social provides a platform for businesses to manage social media engagement, publishing and analytics.

11. Motorola Solutions – 1,312 net employee increase

Unlike the phone arm of the company, Motorola Solutions builds first responder technology. From cameras to communication tools, they've made Chicago their hub and has even invested in some local startups.

12. Relativity – 225 net employee increase

Relativity's e-discovery platform manages large volumes of data & identifies key issues during litigation, investigations, & compliance.

13. HS2 Solutions – 42 net employee increase

HS2’s mission is to leverage technology and digital marketing to drive superior results for their clients.

14. Flexera – 48 net employee increase

Flexera Software helps application producers and enterprises increase application usage and the value they derive from their software.

15. Solstice – 58 net employee increase

Solstice is an innovation and emerging tech firm that helps enterprises seize new opportunities through world-changing digital solutions.
