Cincinnati is known for more than Skyline Chili. This city, nuzzled in the heart of Ohio, is a testament to what startups can do in a more supportive environment. With plenty of resources and a small enough ecosystem to make a real impact, entrepreneurs are hungry to leave a lasting impression on the birthplace of aviation. And it looks like UpTech’s newest accelerator cohort could be the best place to start.
After five successful cohorts, UpTech is doing it all again with nine data-driven startups filled with potential. From marketing to event coordination, these companies are poised to put Cincinnati on the map. And with half a decade of experience, UpTech should be able to foster some serious winners in this group.
“It’s great to be back for another year. The region continues the upward trend of developing and attracting some of the best entrepreneurs. I’m fortunate to be a part of a community working with innovators. Every year I’m seeing startup founders who are more knowledgeable and ‘startup mature.’ Make no mistake, this is because of the amazing group effort of everyone in our community,” said JB Woodruff, program director at UpTech.
UpTech aims to do more than support these startups in their eventual growth. The data-driven startup accelerator wants to make Cincinnati a larger tech hub than it already is, which is why they are bringing in regional partners to facilitate growth in the entire ecosystem, rather than just individual companies.
“By partnering with regional corporations, we’re addressing two key needs for startups, feedback from industry experts and customer connections. We’re also helping corporations by being one of many ways they can focus on innovation and inspire cultural change. This year we’re partnering with St. Elizabeth to help develop groundbreaking cancer screening technology. Everyone has been wonderful to work with and we can’t wait to get started,” said Woodruff.
