There are just under two weeks left for Cash App users to get their share of a $15 Million pay out from a data breach settlement.

The deadline for applying is November 18, 2024 and you could be one of America’s 50 million Cash App users who is eligible for a pay-out.

The company made headlines when it was hit with a class action suit after a series of data breaches led to the accusation that it hadn’t done enough to protect its customers.

What is the Cash App Settlement About?

The case, Salinas, et al. v. Block Inc., et al., Case No. 3:22-cv-04823-AMO, set out to get compensation for all those Cash App users whose data was illegally accessed by third parties as a result of the data breaches. This includes users who lost money because of fraudulent transactions.

While Cash App is denying any wrongdoing, it agreed to pay out $15 million to customers that have been affected.

If you meet these three requirements, then you can make a claim in the settlement.

How Do I Claim in Cash Settlement?

If you’re eligible and want to claim in the Cash App settlement, you’ll need to complete a form via the official settlement site. If you received a Notice ID and Confirmation Code, they will be needed. However, if you didn’t receive these, you can still apply.

Your claim might also require you handing over additional evidence, including receipts, credit card statements, police reports, to back up your claim that you have been affected by the data breaches.

The deadline has already passed for those who want to raise their objection to being part of the settlement. The deadline for getting your claim in is November 18th, so you don’t have long.

The final court hearing is scheduled for December 16, 2024 and payments will follow after this date.
