Sir Richard Branson’s Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) 2017, one of the largest startup competitions in the world, has announced the three ventures that will be going to Branson’s Necker Island on February 2 for the finals after a contentious semi-finals round at CES 2017. Meet the finalists below:
Cresilon, the Hemostatic solution startup that created a plant-based gel that speeds up blood clotting in order to treat rapid hemorrhaging.
ReDeTec, a filament recycling startup that created a drastically cheaper version of plastic spool for 3D printing and a way to recycle and reuse plastic to create your own spool.
Vantage Robotics, an aerial camera startup that created a drone with an attachable camera that is significantly superior in quality, safety, and portability
The three finalists will be strutting their stuff on the main stage in Necker Island as they pitch their venture to Sir Richard Branson and a host of other judges, including Jim Breyer, founder and CEO of Breyer Capital, Tom Siebel, software entrepreneur and founder of C3 loT, Theresia Gouw, managing partner of Aspect Ventures, Steph Hannon, CTO for the Hillary for America campaign, and Jerry Huang, COO of the iTutor Group .
