Today, San Francisco-based Everwise has announced the successful close of a $16 million Series B round. Their latest round is led by Sequoia Capital, with support from prior investors Canvas Ventures and Webb Investment Network. The company is said to use their latest injection of capital to fuel their growth.

Everwise co-founder and CEO Mike BergelsonEverwise is an system designed for companies that want to support and help grow their employees skills and potential to the highest possibilities. Through individually curated employee development experiences and person-to-person or mentor learning, both professionals and companies can grow in parallel.

“Providing access to online content alone won’t solve the talent crises companies face today. This is why organizations and employees are demanding a completely new model for career development,” said Everwise co-founder and CEO Mike Bergelson. “HR leaders have historically had to choose between solutions that scale and those that are effective. We believe this is a false choice and that every employee should have access to a personalized, impactful social learning experience. The human connection – where people learn from and with each other – is critical to translating knowledge into behavior change.”

Alongside the latest round of funding, Everwise is also launching the Everwise Enterprise Social Learning Platform. The platform will build on the company’s successful track record of employee development by adding in software that connects professionals to the people, development resources, and experiences they need to succeed. Available today, the platform will also optimize the onboarding experience, support front-line managers, and navigate organizational change.

“At Sequoia we’ve been actively tracking the learning and development market for many years. Everwise caught our eye as a breakthrough company,” said Sequoia Capital’s Joe Dobrenski. “Their approach turns conventional professional development on its head by providing, at enterprise scale, the individualized learning experiences required to help the modern knowledge worker reach his/her full potential.”

When Everwise launched in 2012, they initially matched mentors with professionals. With their new platform, they will expand on the scope of their mission. To date, Everwise has raised $26.35 million across four rounds.
