Prepare for These 2016 Mobile App Predictions

Mobile applications have become a predominant part of our everyday lives. There’s no doubting that 2015 has been a massive year for mobile. Users are starting to demand more from their mobile experiences with mobile apps and websites, and much of 2016 will be about creating more personal engagement with consumers.

2016 will be a huge year for mobile applications. Google is paving the way for apps by making changes to its algorithms and punishing websites that aren’t mobile friendly. Apps are certainly on the rise and businesses need to understand that they must adapt to this new technology or risk playing catch-up with competitors.

So what exactly should we expect to see in the mobile app arena within the next 12 months?

Enterprise Mobility Will Become More Widely Adopted

2015 was a big year in terms of enterprise mobility. Businesses are beginning to realize the importance of mobilizing business processes. It certainly helps simplify current business models and increases productivity and drives efficiencies across an organization.

Many businesses have begun “testing the water” in 2015 but in this coming year, they’re expected to take it to a whole new level. Expansions in enterprise mobile infrastructures should be quite common and we are likely to see more advances in mobile payments too.

App Security to Remain a Main Focus

A Gartner report predicted that more than 75 percent of apps will even fail to meet basic security measures during 2015. This prediction has come true and app security is set to remain a main focus for businesses and developers in 2016.

Securing mobile apps can prove to be a real challenge for businesses. Nearly 40 percent of large organizations do not have the necessary precautions required to prevent security breaches. With an increasing amount of businesses introducing BYOD and BYOA policies, security in 2016 is a vital factor to consider and get right when deploying apps across an organization.

Consumer-Focused Experience

Businesses in 2016 will be looking to create a more consumer focused mobile experience. It’s vital for organizations to shift their mobile apps and websites in order to stay current with consumer behavior. At the end of the day, your mobile app should be developed in order to assist the user.

Since Google’s “Mobilegeddon” announcement earlier in 2015, it has become apparent that a great user experience is essential. 2016 will see more and more businesses developing a greater user experience for their consumers and thus increase adoption rates in the future.
