Improv Comedy Meets Instagram With SnapDash

You’re hiding from your ex at the bar.  Okay, not really.  But pretend like you were- after all, it’s being documented.

This is the premise behind SnapDash, a new app for iOS (Android coming soon) that prompts subjects with humorous scenarios to be acted out under a 5-second camera timer.  The result is a quasi-Whose Line is it Anyway meets Instagram photo-stream of hilarity.

“I’ve always loved comedy and comedians, so much so that I took stand-up and improv classes at the DC Improv and has performed a handful of times. The combination of my desire to find humor in every situation and an eventful beach trip this past Summer triggered the idea, and the inspiration for SnapDash grew from there,” says SnapApp co-founder, Daniel Hanks.

SnapDash also features all the familiar bells and whistles with a variety of filters and photo editing options, as well as the option to share across Twitter and/or Facebook.

The app’s output provides a nice change of pace from the traditional crowd into the booth and forge a smile photo frenzy that is expected from one’s newsfeed.   It’s sure to be a hit amongst your theatrical friends or as a means to spice up the next company happy hour.

Check out SnapDash in-person as they’re a showcasing startup at the upcoming TechCocktail DC Mixer.
