With over 600 million users that create over 100 million pieces of content every day, Instagram is certainly one of the best platforms for social media marketing, and it’s here to stay. Instagram is still growing five times faster than any other social media network in the U.S. and it’s expected to pass 100 million U.S. users by the end of the year. Yet surprisingly, Instagram is still being neglected by a large portion of entrepreneurs and businesses.
SelfStatr reports that only 36 percent of marketers actually use Instagram, compared to 93 percent of marketers who use Facebook. A startling figure given Instagram’s engagement with brands is 10 times higher than Facebook, 54 times higher than Pinterest, and 84 times higher than Twitter. Accentuated by the fact that Instagram’s visual content, which features more predominately on Instagram than Facebook, is proven to perform better than text-based content; with 40 percent of consumers responding better to visuals than plain text. There’s no doubting the marketing potential of Instagram.
