TestMax, a platform dedicated to shifting test prep to mobile platforms, recently announced the results of a survey they took: over half of pre-law students say they plan to use a mobile app to prep for the LSAT. The Silicon Beach (aka Los Angeles) startup focuses on building comprehensive test prep courses optimized purely for mobile usage.
“Test prep is a $4 billion per year industry, and there is a huge shift in how students are preparing for these standardized tests,” says Mehran Ebadolahi, co-founder and CEO of TestMax.
Of the 57 percent who said they would buy or use a mobile app to study for the LSTA, 79 percent indicated that they were choosing the mobile route because of convenience. That is, a test prep instructor might not be available at 2 am on Saturday; TestMax is.
“Students moving towards mobile app-based prep courses is not surprising,” says Ebadolahi. “Our apps address all the inefficiencies that pervade the traditional in-class model—price, accessibility, convenience, quality of instruction, ability to customize, and length of access.”
Students can download LSATMax for free from the Apple App Store. And in addition to the LSAT prep course, TestMax offers course for the Bar Exam and the SAT.
