This morning, the New York, NY-based, deep linking startup Button announced a partnership with Foursquare that will give Foursquare users the ability to book Uber rides directly from within the Foursquare app. The partnership with the location-based service provides Button with an expansion of its platform into international markets including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, as well as marks the company’s launch on Android OS.
With previous integrated partnerships with Seamless and OpenTable to give users the ability to order food and book seats, Foursquare’s partnership with Uber through Button’s deep linking now offers consumers with an option to travel to their selected venues, as well. Whether it’s to a restaurant or some other destination, Foursquare users can execute on their plans much more quickly with a simple button to Uber right inside the application. For those new to Uber, you can enter the promotion code “FOURSQUARE” for a discount on your first ride.
“Using Button simplified the process of integrating Uber into Foursquare,” said Foursquare SVP of product management, Noah Weiss, in a statement. “With a few lines of code we were able to create a seamless experience when requesting an Uber built directly into our app, saving us time and effort.”
Button’s deep linking platform gives companies the ability to integrate and unify the experience between the various apps on your phone. The hope for the company is to help partners drive more revenue and engagement through its DeepLink Commerce platform. The company has raised more than $14 million in funding from the likes of Redpoint Ventures, Greycroft Partners, and Atlas Ventures.
