Sports Challenge Network (SCN) and Rolltech just announced their merger. Combined, their goal is to focus on the mobile bowling experience with SCN as the parent company. Since Rolltech’s known for past creation Action Bowling and SCN was known for XBowling prior to the merge, this merger appears posed to solidify SCN as the industry leader.
For the near future, they’ll focus on two products: Action Bowling and Mobilizer. Action Bowling is “a consumer-facing mobile product that lets league bowlers compete in virtual contests for real cash using league scores.” Mobilizer is designed with bowling centers in mind, providing them with a custom app and backend system “to more easily manage all aspects of their business from one simple platform,” as per the company’s press release.
“I am delighted to announce the completion of this exciting merger between SCN and Rolltech,” said Tim Minard, CEO of Sports Challenge Network, Inc., in the statement “We are completely motivated by helping bowlers individually, and the industry collectively, expand in new ways across what we call the 3 C’s of bowling: competition, connection and community. Together, SCN and Rolltech are uniquely positioned to do this and we look forward to helping define and lead the digital and mobile future of the sport.”
Rich Belsky, former CEO of Rolltech, and now COO of SCN, voiced a similar opinion:
“The new Sports Challenge Network Inc. will deliver unmatched excitement, service and value to customers in very unique ways that enable bowlers to experience and participate in the sport differently, and connect and play over their personal devices. Our goal is to help advance the implementation and adoption of new technology to benefit consumers and bowling proprietors.”
Both the Action Bowling mobile game and the Mobilizer business aid have seen promising early customer adaption. As long as SCN remains committed to their goal—”redefining traditional gameplay for some of the world’s oldest sports and games”—their merger with RollTech looks bright for the future of mobile bowling.
