Ten More Startups Launch From TechStars Seattle

Ten more startups launched today as part of the TechStars Seattle startup accelerator program in front of a full house at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle. The day concluded a long voyage for the startups that participated in the 3 month program, which included mentoring, seed capital and probably a pivot or two. In its second year, led by Andy Sack and team, TechStars Seattle was one of the top ranked accelerators in the U.S. The competitive program looked at 700 applications and only accepted 10.

The ten startups that launched at Demo Day today were as follows:

Beamit – Founders Matt Oppenheimer, Shivaas Gulati and Josh Hug are creating a product that leverages mobile wallets to provide a simple, low-cost and fast way to send money to compete with services like Western Union and Moneygram. They look to disrupt a global $325 billion money transfer
industry.

Bluebox Now! – The founders Naresh Dhiman and Chad Reed created a casual gaming network sponsored by brands. They are looking to change the way brands engage and retain their customers.

EveryMove – Founded by Russell Benaroya and Marcelo Calbucci, the service allows consumers to connect devices and applications which capture their healthy activities and convert that information into rewards from their insurance company, employer and brands.

FlexMinder – Founded by Deepak Kumar and Will Miceli, FlexMinder is a free online tool to manage your Flexible Spending Account. It helps track all your healthcare expenses, prepares and submits your FSA claims, estimates how much to contribute, and makes targeted suggestions for spending your money.

GroupTalent – Founded by Andrew Kinzer, Manuel Medinav, Gordon Hempton and Wes Hather, GroupTalent is a platform where the best projects attract the best developers.

LikeBright – Founded by Nick Soman, Sonya Lai and Ron Lai, LikeBright looks to make dating simple, social and safe for women. Women can vouch for great guys they know and check out guys other women vouch.

Romotive – Founded by Phu Nguyen, Peter Seid, Keller Rinaudo, Romotive makes robotic platforms that use smartphones as their brains. Their first product is a robotic tank toy that people can customize (via hardware extensions & software), program, and control remotely via a live video feed.

Smore – Founded by Gilad Avidan and Shlomi Atar, Smore makes it easy for anyone to create beautiful, effective online fliers — highly designed single-page websites with a clear purpose, like marketing an app, promoting an event or selling a product. We covered Smore previously here.

Vizify – Founded by Todd Silverstein, Jeff Cutler Stamm and Eli Tucker, Vizify enables you to make a great first impression online by creating a visually stunning, information-rich, always-current profile out of the data that lives in the services you already use.

Congrats to all that launched. We look forward to keeping an eye on their progress.
