French-American Creative Lab Showcases 8 Innovative Startups

France is known for a lot more than just cheese and wine. This powerhouse of startup activity is churning out more good ideas than you’d know what to do with. In fact, the companies coming out of France are so impressive that eight of them presented their products in Los Angeles the very first LA Demo Night for the French-American Creative Lab. And innovative doesn’t even begin to describe them.

The French-American Creative Lab is an interdisciplinary program for French startups from the creative and culture industries that plan to expand into the U.S. market. This will be the third rendition of the program, and their first time in Los Angeles.

From robotics to augmented reality, the startups involved showed the crowd that French startups are going to continue to make an impact on the US market as the years go on. Check out the eight companies and their products below:

BEAR

This company is an augmented reality solution that allows publishers and brands to significantly grow their audiences and quickly reach the tech-savvy user or consumer who wishes to connect the physical and digital worlds.

biin

Short for Bureau d’Idées Nouvelles, or “office of new ideas” in English, this company allows cultural and touristic institutions, brands or events who want to convey information to their public, to create great touch apps in few clicks to highlight and share their data.

Euveka 

Euveka is a startup in France’s Drôme region specializing in robotic technologies linked to morphology and biomimicry. Euveka manufactures and develops evolutive and connected mannequins controlled by design software that are destined to be used by clothing industry professionals.

FireFly Cinema

This company offers solutions for managing and encoding high-resolution (up to 8K) digital dailies using Cloud Infrastructure at unprecedented speeds and for an unbeatable price.

IMATAG.com

On the web, most images circulate without source or author information attached. This company produces invisible and unbreakable watermark technology that ensures that any published image will forever be linked to its author.

Racontr

Racontr is an interactive digital design solution for graphic designers that allows them to create websites and mobile and desktop applications in no time. Racontr   gives creative freedom back to users by letting them craft digital creations without hindrance.

Short Edition 

Short Edition is the community publisher of short literature (200,000 regular readers, 7000 authors selected and 85 000 short stories). Short Edition created the Short Story Dispenser, a disruptiing innovation to promote culture and to improve customer relationship.

SkyBoy

SkyBoy creates Overlap Reality®, a technology that immerses cultural or touristic website visitors into an immersive experience in which reality and the virtual overlap.
