This week at TechWeek Washington D.C., from October 2-6, entrepreneurs will be treated to a full schedule of speakers, investors and talent cultivators all focused on providing advice and knowledge to help build businesses, as well as an emerging startup showcase, workshops, pitch competitions, even job opportunities! The action will take place in many locations around D.C. during the week, so make sure to check the schedule for locations and times.

Monday, October 2 – Women Take On Careers in Tech
Located at the Lehman Auditorium at George Washington University. A diverse panel of women working in the D.C. area provides the perspectives of engineers and computer scientist from a variety of different backgrounds who all use their passion for technology to move the industry and our nation forward in their own unique way.
Once you are finished there, head over to the Kick-Off party/Dolphin Tank presented by Springboard Enterprises and 1776 located at 1776 Downtown.
Tuesday, October 3 – I Love Black People: HBCU Tour Pitch Competition
Located at the Inclusive Innovation Incubator. If you have a new idea that tackles a financial or humanitarian crisis, then head over to this pitch competition. This opportunity to can put your venture on the radar of investors, mentors, potential collaborators, and customers.
Wednesday, October 4 – Launch Startup Showcase
Located at 600 Massachusetts Ave. Come check out the hottest tech startups in the D.C. area and listen to three panels filled with founders and investors focusing on different aspects of growing an early-stage company.
Thursday, October 5 – BFD (Big Fat Data) Revolution with Aneesh Chopra
Located at the Potomac Tower. This panel of entrepreneurs took public big data and used it to start multi-million dollar companies. From smart energy use to healthcare, public data can be a minefield of gold, and they are going to show you how it works. Panelists include: Victor Hoskins, Director of Arlington Economic Development (AED), Aneesh Chopra, President of CareJourney and former CTO of the United States, Anthony Fung, Deputy Secretary of Technology, Commonwealth of Virginia, and Shawn Kyzer, Principal Big Data Architect, ByteCubed.
Friday, October 6 – Elite Engineering Talent presented by AED
Located at the Newseum. This panel is focused on helping startups learn how to build top tier technical teams that can solve complex problems and scale product quickly. Panelists include: Steven McKnight, Vice President for the National Capital Region at Virginia Tech, Jonathan Fulton, VP of Engineering, Storyblocks, Mike Grove, Cofounder and VP Engineering, Stardog, Ximena Hartsock, Cofounder, Phone2Action Inc. and Jess Szmajda, CTO, Optoro.
