Israel has become the country of innovation. The country has more technology startups and R&D professionals than any other country in the world, which is a great indicator by itself. In the health and medicine industries, this advancement is also visible. A great example is the modern elastic bandage that saved the life of former USA Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, after she was shot in the head.

In order to increase the exposure of this booming industry, the non-profit organization Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) has decided to select the country’s top MedTech and Healthcare IT companies to be presented at this year’s MEDICA, the World Forum in Medicine, to be held next month in the German city of Düsseldorf. These are the companies:

QinFlow Ltd.

Since its foundation in 2008, they have worked on a fluid warming technology to be used in emergency situations. With it, rescue teams and paramedics can have a portable and efficient way to warm blood and IV fluids, which is useful for successful transfusions and other actions.

Motorika

Develops robotic arms and other devices to help patients recovering from several conditions.

Medasense Biometrics Ltd.

Specializes in pain monitoring solutions, in order to reduce pain with a more effective treatment by actually measuring pain.

Integrity Applications

Focuses on creating new and non-invasive glucose monitoring devices, so that no needles are necessary. People with diabetes, for example, currently have to sting their fingers with a needle in order to control their glucose levels, and this technology will surely have a high impact in their lives.

HealthWatch

This company is a pioneer in textile technology, producing a fashionable smart garment that is capable to measure vital signs. Working along with HealthWatch’s monitor and control device, users can receive personal alerts and automatic monitoring from medical experts.

GlucoMe

Similar to Integrity Applications, it developed a wireless blood glucose monitor, which can easily be connected to a mobile device. The monitor is small, fashionable and with a simple design, featuring no display, buttons, or any other complications.

EarlySense

Developed a next-generation continuous patient monitoring solution, helpful for hospitals and healthcare systems to improve patient safety and reducing risk for general care patients.

Core Scientific Creations

Creator and manufacturer of devices for advanced bleeding control, working closely with professional caregivers for the development of new products and methods of application.

CNOGA Medical Ltd.

This company built two non-invasive sensors that measure and collect health related data, so that anyone can easily (and at all times) have a glimpse on their current physical state. The first sensor, TensorTip Matrix, measures hemodynamics, blood gases and blood chemistry hemoglobin, and the second one, TensorTip Vital Sign Monitor, measures vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse.

60 Other Medical Devices

Other than these companies, the Israeli pavilion at MEDICA 2016 will also feature over 60 medical devices, all tailored for everyone in all health systems around the world, from hospitals and clinics to everyday people. Tomer Epstein, from the IEICI, highlighted the importance of this showcase for the development of Israel’s health tech panorama:

“The Israel Pavilion is well-known for showcasing some of the most impressive medical and health technologies, and this year Israel certainly does not disappoint. The government of Israel works hard to promote the crème de la crème of Israeli health tech companies whose solutions will change our wellbeing in more ways than one.”
