Gojee Launches iOS and Android Apps

Gojee, the gorgeous food recipe site, today launched iOS and Android apps to help you plan meals and ogle desserts on the go.

One of Gojee’s neat features is that you can tell it what’s in your pantry. Then when a recipe pops up, it separates ingredients by “Your Ingredients” and “You Need.” So if you’re at the grocery store, you can pull up the Gojee app and quickly see what to throw in your shopping cart.

Cofounder Mike LaValle reflects on bringing Gojee to mobile, and how he uses the new apps:

“The most challenging part for us was thinking through a new experience for favorites. It was clear that our users needed a better way to browse through their saved recipes than full screen mode, so our tile view is the first attempt to make this experience more pleasurable [see right]. After designing our tile view for mobile, we ended up bringing it to our desktop as well.

I use the Gojee apps about once a month to learn new ways to cook fish and make S’mores.  There are a lot of different ways on our site to make S’mores.”

Gojee raised $2.8 million in Series A funding in July.
