Justin Stewart and Jamie Hodari spent a good year and a half scouring office space in Chicago to open up Industrious. This year, they finally found what they wanted – a space in Chicago’s River North area with exposed brick, high ceilings, and big windows – the “New York feel,” says community manager Danielle Darah.
Currently under construction, to open in July, Industrious will be a shared office with around 54 companies. Most of the 17,000 square feet will be private offices with glass walls, but coworking desks will also be available.
“We all work best at our own well-calibrated productivity ratio: the proper amount of social interaction, stimulating collaboration, and noiseless privacy. Simply put, today’s workforce needs both a buzzing lounge and a fortress of solitude,” their website says.
A big chunk of Industrious residents will be startups, as well as law firms, investors, and designers. There will also be classes and events in the space.
Right now, Industrious is a blank canvas, but construction in the next few months will change that. Darah tell us to picture hardwood floors, black-and-white decor with pops of color, hanging lightbulbs for an “industrial feel,” and art by local artists.
Flexible-lease pricing ranges from $450 per month for a desk to $4,600 per month for a 10-person private office. Reserve now to save a spot.
