Zappos fired back today at Kanye West, who ranted in a podcast appearance that Zappos sells “sh*t product.”
“I got into this giant argument with the head of Zappos that he’s trying to tell me what I need to focus on. Meanwhile, he sells all this sh*t product to everybody, his whole thing is based off of selling sh*t product,” said the hip hop artist, who’s engaged to Kim Kardashian.
This presumably happened when West toured the Downtown Project, the $350 million community revitalization project headed by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, while in Las Vegas for a performance.
So today, Zappos took West’s words to heart and released the Sh-t Product, selling for $100,000. It’s a high-quality plunger with a sturdy plastic handle “so you can really get a handle on your business,” says the video. “Next time you find yourself in a jam, make sure you reach for the heavy duty plunging power of the
Sh-t Product plunger from Zappos.com.”
Despite Kanye’s opinion, the Sh-t Product has amassed 46 positive reviews and a 5-star rating. Celebrities be warned: when you butt heads with Zappos, your credibility goes down the drain.
