It’s no secret that healthcare startups are hot right now. There are a lot of innovative companies out there trying to make it easier for everyone to get the care they need. These companies do everything from improving doctor/patient communication, to simplifying health insurance, to helping individuals track their own health and fitness. Separately they may exist in their own niches but together they benefit everyone – patients, doctors, insurers, caregivers, and even those who are perfectly healthy and rarely need medical care. It’s a trickle-down effect that is making the human race healthier little by little.

Some of them, like Jawbone, you’ve heard of and may even use; if you work in the world of healthcare or healthcare technologies you may know a few more. A couple of them are based in some of the top startup cities in the world (Nanthealth – LA, moderna – Boston). Some are US-based and some are international. What they all have in common is that they are trying to make the world a better place by improving healthcare.
