Company culture is an integral component of any business. In recent years, companies have put more and more focus on fostering company cultures that promote creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit. After all, millennials are generally looking for jobs that will engage them emotionally and mentally, as opposed to simply looking for a job that will offer stability.
Different companies have different values, goals, and incentives that drive their teams. Finding a company with a good cultural fit for you can be a determining factor in how happy you are at work, how well you perform in your role, and how far your position at the company will propel you in your career.
If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, then this infographic created by Venngage might give you some guidance. Venngage took a magical approach to company culture by sorting 54 tech companies into their respective Hogwarts house: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.
Each Hogwarts house comes with its own set of character traits, strengths and weaknesses. Gryffindors, for example, pride themselves on their competitive drives, while Hufflepuffs prioritize diligent teamwork. Ravenclaws take a study-based approach to perfecting their craft, while Slytherins are tactic-driven and calculating in their approach to success.
