Top 10 SaaS Startups in Chicago Tech

In the past few years, the Chicago (and greater Chicagoland) tech scene has developed into one of the most robust startup ecosystems in the country. At the same time, we seen a rapid move towards the utilization of the Internet to provide services (specificaly in the form of SaaS or “software as a service”). Last week, the Chicago-based G2 Crowd, whose platform lets users review various business software and SaaS platforms, looked at the performance of these SaaS startups in the Chicagoland tech scene and published a post on who they believe to be the top SaaS startups in Chicago tech.

To come up with their rankings, G2 Crowd looked at two major factors: market presence and customer satisfaction. Using their own data of product reviews left by users, they were able to pin down the 19 companies that reached their minimum data requirements (only companies whose products had ten or more validated reviews on the G2 Crowd platform were included in its rankings). They then plotted these 19 companies per that market presence and customer satisfaction.

G2 Crowd: Who's Tops in Chicago Tech?Looking at the plotted data above, it’s clear that companies like SurePayroll, Sprout Social, and Steelbrick rank towards the top, considering both their high market presence and high level of customer satisfaction. G2 Crowd, however, turned more specifically to customer satisfaction to list what they consider to be the ten best Chicagoland business software/SaaS startups. And, by those standards, the top ten SaaS startups in the Chicago tech scene are as follows:

  1. Sertifi
  2. Sprout Social
  3. Steelbrick CPQ
  4. SurePayroll
  5. DialogTech
  6. NumXL
  7. ExpressPigeon
  8. Geofeedia
  9. Starfish ETL
  10. Personify Live
