8 Columbus Startups Competing in the Rise of the Rest Startup Bus Tour

There's nothing better than a little startup competition to make you appreciate your ecosystem. It motivates founders, spurs innovation, and injects some much-needed capital into any city looking to make technology a priority. And if you're looking for a countrywide competition that is doing all of this and more, look no further than the Rise of the Rest Startup Bus tour.

Led by former CEO of AOL, Steve Case, the Rise of the Rest is a startup bus tour that visits smaller ecosystems to help make launching a business a little bit easier. The tour will visit five cities in five days and Steve Case personally invests a total of $500,000 in local startups.

At each stop, there are fireside chats and networking happy hours, as well as a pitch competition where Steve Case decided which startup will be going home with a $100,000 investment. And the companies competing this year are a force to be reckoned with.

In order to give startups a better idea of how to pitch him, Steve Case created this video with important tips:

5 Mistakes Entrepreneurs Make When Pitching Inve…

Whether at the Revolution offices or on the Rise of the Rest bus tours, Steve Case has heard thousands of pitches from entrepreneurs. These are the top 5 mistakes to avoid if you’re trying to raise money for your company.

TechCo's own Frank Gruber will be joining the tour at various stops, so if you're interested in attending the festivities from October 10th to October 17th, make sure to RSVP here.
