ThankView Lets You Send Video Thank You Cards

There’s something special about receiving a handwritten note in the mail. It might have something to do with the fact that it’s so rare these days. No one writes letters anymore. In fact, I think the only handwritten, personalized items I’ve even received in the last 15 years have been cards–primarily thank you cards.

Thank you cards are sweet to receive, but a pain in the ass to write, especially if you’ve just had a large event like a shower or a wedding and are now responsible for scribing a hundred thank you cards. As much as you love your friends and family, the process of formally showing your gratitude can be a real time suck.

ThankView founder JD Beebe wanted to avoid  this time suck when he got married. The idea of writing out all of those thank you cards felt daunting and him and his wife actively sought out alternatives.

The best alternative they found was video. It was a way to quickly thank their loved ones while maintaining the personal touch we all appreciate. In 2015 he turned his idea into a company. ThankView allows people to send customized video thank you cards.

The service allows customers to record individual messages to send to their contacts. They can customize these videos with different layouts, music options, and envelopes. Once personalized and packaged, the videos get emailed immediately.

The process of sending a ThankView:

  • Select your video’s “card” design. Choose from dozens of animated themes and customize it with photos, dates and colors

  • Upload your recipients – Enter in your recipient’s name & email address.

  • Record – Activate your camera, whether on your computer or your cell phone, and start recording.

  • Send your Thankview – After previewing your video, send your ThankView on its way

  • Track your ThankView to see when it was delivered and when it was viewed.

Aside from not having to physically write anything (because we know your handwriting is atrocious), ThankView is also relatively inexpensive. The first five ThankViews are free and packages start at $20 for 25 ThankViews. Sure, it’s a bit more expensive than going the traditional route, but it saves a lot of time, and as they say, time is money.
