This Wearable Could Help You Experience Lucid Dreams

Imagine: you’re in your underwear in front of your crush about to take a test that you haven’t studied for and all of a sudden your teeth fall out. Sound familiar? This is a combination of every stress dream anyone has ever had. But what if you could be in completely control of your dreams? That’s the idea behind lucid dreaming, and one company has developed a wearable that could help you get started.

The Neuroon Open Sleep Tracker is a wearable that, much like a virtual reality headset, unceremoniously straps to the front of your face. The sleep mask can do everything from track your sleep to guide meditation sessions, leading to improve mental health and better quality of life for users. Through the use of the connected app, you’ll also be able to detailed sleep analytics that can even help you A/B test your own sleep patterns.

This could be a huge step in the right direction for sleep analysis and study. Because the wearable is constantly monitoring your sleep behavior, it will be able to glean meaningful insights that could help with sleep disorders, insomnia, and even just restless nights. Plus, with an open source model, you can adjust it to your own personal needs.

“I really think this is the way forward for brain science,” said Kamil Adamczyk, CEO and inventor of the Neuroon Open. “For years we had to use massive machines that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and now anyone can buy a little face mask to see if they are having seizures in their sleep or create a lucid dreaming experience.”

All that sounds great, but that’s not the awesome thing about this product. According to their Kickstarter campaign, Neuroon One can also help users with lucid dreaming:

“Lucid dreaming is thought to be a trainable skill that has been demonstrated to increase through the use of cognitive and external stimulation techniques. Both techniques are features of Neuroon Open!”

Having just finished their Kickstarter campaign, reaching their $100,000 goal in the first day and raising a total of $357,769, the future for this interesting device is bright. Tragically, you can only preorder models now, but check back soon to see how this innovative wearable has progressed.
