8 Great Apps for Keeping Track of Business Contacts

Entrepreneurs are always on the go. Whether they’re networking at a tech conference or rushing to an investors meeting, it’s necessary to be able to quickly and efficiently organize contact information. After all, a single contact could be the difference between a Series A and a serious problem. Fortunately, there are more than enough apps out there to help you keep track of all your business contacts.

We asked eight entrepreneurs what the best apps are to keep track of important business contacts on the go. Check out their answers below and download these apps before you misplace that ever-important business card:

Whatsapp

Whatsapp uses the phone’s contacts to allow you to connect with individuals. Once their contact information is saved in your phone, you can send photos, voice memos, create group chats and of course talk via text. All of the person’s contact information can be included and you can then reach them regardless of where they are in the world — all you need is wifi or a 3G connection.

GetBase CRM

GetBase is a fantastic CRM and contact tool. When customers call in, it will tell me who it is without even having them saved in my phone as a contact. All emails between contacts sync to their record automatically, making taking voice and text notes, creating tasks and calendar items and updating deals a breeze.

SaleforceIQ

SalesforceIQ, formerly RelateIQ, is a great customer relationship management (CRM) tool that was recently acquired by Salesforce. It’s super simple — basically an online spreadsheet that connects to your email and lets you create and tag lists of different kinds of contacts. Best of all, they have a great mobile app that you can use to access all your important business contacts’ information on the go.

Pipedrive

Being in the services business, keeping track of business contacts and being the loop always active is imperative for its smooth functioning. Pipedrive CRM helps you track just that with incredible simplicity, making the entire process highly efficient. It integrates with your calendar to keep you up to date on events and meetings, as well as follow-ups.

Streak

Streak is a browser extension for Gmail, but they’ve also got an iOS app that integrates email with a customer’s pipeline. It’s great for keeping business contacts in the same frame of reference as a deal flow. All data is immediately synced with other members of the same pipeline, so everyone stays in the loop as correspondence evolves with that contact regardless of which device is being used.

– Dave Nevogt of HubStaff

Humin

In my opinion, Humin is the app that everyone can use. Whether you’re looking to stay in touch with clients back at home or adding new contacts while on the go, Humin remembers your relationships just like you do by categorizing your contacts by location, common connections and how you know each other. This provides a deep level of context for every contact in your phone.

Salesforce1

As one of the most powerful CRM platforms, Salesforce is great to have with me wherever I go. Thankfully the company has a fantastic mobile app for iOS called Salesforce1. With the app you can easily access your contacts and accounts as well as active deals, opportunity history and outstanding tasks. They even give you access to your Salesforce dashboards on the go so you’re always in the know.

LinkedIn

As an international business person, I travel a lot between the United States, Africa, Europe and Asia. As a result, it’s imperative that I have universal solutions like apps to managing business contacts on the go. By far the most effective mobile app to keep track of my contacts is LinkedIn. Unlike business cards that provide minimal information about a contact, LinkedIn provides details beyond basic contact info.
