RoomMe and Next User Win San Francisco Startup of the Year

In a casual, relaxed environment Friday night in San Francisco, Joel Trammell and San Francisco attendees gathered at Parisoma to learn about leadership and mix and mingle with local startups.

By voting online and in person, San Francisco told us loud and clear who would be San Francisco’s Startup of the Year.

The winning startups represent two different industry verticals, but definitely speak to the needs of companies and entrepreneurs in the Bay area. These startups will be invited to move on to the next event: Celebrate 2015 in October! You can see the full lineup of local and online competitions that we will hold to lead up to the Global Startup of the Year competition by checking this list. If you don’t see your city or region listed, let us know!

Reader’s Choice Winner: room.me

room.me wants to be like OKcupid to help people find roommates. Finding scary roommates with Craigslist, weird open house castings, and no information to help you decide about roommates is a challenge today. room.me wants to meet that challenge by matching algorithms for roommates. After all, you choose your friends – why not choose your roommates the same way.

Best Pitch Winner: Next User

Next User solves one of the biggest challenges in marketing: NextUser enables marketers to map and respond to the full customer journey – across any marketing channel. Their platform was specifically built for B2C companies, with a data layer that addresses both the complexity of consumer behavior and varied product/service mix which far outpaces the core capabilities of current CRM/B2B (Marketing Automation) solutions. They say they are doing this with an entirely “open” platform. Companies invested with a suite of marketing solutions no longer need to switch out their email service provider or other tools to leverage NextUser. Through direct APIs, Next User enables their current marketing ecosystem to work in harmony.

Congrats to the winning startups, and we hope to see them in Las Vegas! Don’t forget – be sure to check our upcoming event schedule on the Celebrate Startup Tour to find out where to pitch in your region!
