If you often roll “Han Solo” to the coffee shop, ballgame or to the bars but are interested in finding other people who live near you to hang out with, you might want to check out Sponduu. Sponduu is a new and unique service that enables people to easily and efficiently find activity partners in your local area. Particularly handy if you’re new to the neighborhood, Sponduu is a bulletin board application to find people interested in participating in local activities with you. The site was founded in 2010 and just launched an iPhone application and will soon launch an Android application to enable on-the-go activity matchmaking.

With Sponduu, you simply post what you are looking to do on the bulletin board in your area. You can also share that with Facebook or Twitter. Then wait for others to join you. I am not sure what Sponduu is doing to help ensure you find someone else, which is where the value in posting something on Sponduu lies. Location based push-notifications or emails when new items get posted might be the best way to get someone else’s attention.
I like the idea of finding spontaneous random partners for events and activitites, but Sponduu is going to have to prove its value and go above and beyond what other startups like Plancast, who has a huge head start to market and funding to boot, have done. Sportsvite is another competitor that comes to mind, but are focused more directly on sports matchmaking.
Sponduu will be on hand as a featured startup at Tech Cocktail San Diego on December 2nd at Analog Bar. Come by and meet the team and find out more about what this fresh startup is looking to do in 2011.
