Popular crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo are a brilliant way to promote your project. They are platforms that allow people to engage with your concept and ultimately buy into your vision. Usually, you’ve made nothing tangible yet; it will be made if – and only if – a number of people get behind it.
Crowdfunding sites are a benefit to entrepreneurs worldwide, but what if there were more worthwhile causes to give your money to?
VideoJuice is a social fundraising platform “where we ask and you answer the question, ‘What would you do to raise money for your favorite cause?’” the Chicago startup explains. You do something creative; the crowd funds you for your personal or charitable needs.
For example, CEO Tom Denison vowed to dye his hair pink for a month if he could raise $1,000 for the Susan G. Komen Charity.
Videojuice allows you to create a video to promote a worthwhile cause to support “something bigger” than just your own projects. The hook is just how far the person who posted the project will go to support that project.
Another VideoJuicer was willing to get the LUNGevity logo tattooed on his chest to support his cause. Clearly, there is a passion to help!
It was created because of a “lack of creativity associated with fundraising for your favorite cause,” they say; it was created to help people, and that is what I love about this service.
While it is a shame that sometimes we have to go to these extreme lengths to help a good cause, I applaud VideoJuice for creating something that truly has the ability to change the world for the better with the support of the masses.
