5 Web Design Structures Every Entrepreneur Needs to Know

There are five very popular structural elements that are found in a rather large percentage of the websites now on the internet. These structures are things that every entrepreneur should be aware of, so that you discuss topics of web design and web content more intelligently. So let’s take a look at the web design structures that are used most often, so you can identify them and learn more about how they are used.

Here are the five most common web design structures:

Menu for Navigation

The various navigation buttons are located in many different places. These clickable links take you to the various locations in the website. They are usually arranged strategically so that it is easy to find your way around a website so that you can easily access all of the content that is available.

Webpage Header

The header of a page is located at the top of the homepage and is often the same on every page of a website. It is usually decorated with a high quality image and contains the name of the website. This structural element is the main design feature that differentiates a website and makes it unique.

Content

This is the reason why the website exists. This is the information that everyone has come to see. It is usually centered around a central topic and often has several subtopics that are spread out among the many pages of the website. Content usually includes things like a description of the company, its blog, its hours of operation, contact information, a list of frequently asked questions, and specific details about the products and services offered by the company.

Sidebar Columns

These columns run along either the left or right side of the webpage and often provide additional navigation links. They are also called sidebars and are often filled with advertisements. Many website will also place search boxes in the sidebar as well as many other elements commonly found on webpages.

Webpage Footer

The footer is located at the bottom of the pages in a website. It often provides navigation links, a link to the webpage’s privacy policy, and a link to the web page’s terms of use. The copyright information of a website is also found here.

These are the 5 basic structural elements of webpage design that you need to be aware of, so you will have a basic idea of what a typical website contains.
