Clearspring Changes Its Name to AddThis and Launches New Social Tools

Clearspring, the company behind social sharing and analytics platform AddThis, will henceforth be known as AddThis.

What’s more, the DC-based company released some powerful statistics: AddThis is now on 14 million sites, reaching 1.3 billion users every month. It powers those little sharing buttons and offers analytics on how readers and fans are interacting with brands via social media.

This approach gives AddThis a distinct look into how we surf the web and how we feel about brands:

“Facebook is currently on track to map the social and interest connections between 1 billion people. Leveraging our reach, along with our Xgraph technology, AddThis uniquely maps not only the social and interest connections between 1.3 billion users, but also their intent,” said cofounder and executive chairman Hooman Radfar.

In addition to existing services like targeted advertising, AddThis is improving its toolkit with a new social plugin and analytics suite, so websites can add sections like “trending content.”
