Copyblogger Media Introduces Genesis 2.0 WordPress Design Framework

Yesterday Copyblogger Media unveiled their upgraded WordPress design framework, Genesis 2.0. Their current framework, Genesis, powers more than 2 million websites, and Genesis 2.0 is being rolled out to make the web faster, safer, and more mobile friendly.

To help understand Genesis 2.0, picture it as a car. WordPress would be the engine, the Genesis design framework is the frame and body, and the pure design is the “paint” aesthetic that makes the car look nice.

“Genesis 2.0 embodies the four pillars of modern web design and development: performance, security, flexibility, and search optimization,” says Brian Clark, founder and CEO of Copyblogger Media. “Genesis is already the world’s most popular WordPress framework. Now it is better than ever.”

Copyblogger Media continually works to provide solid software solutions for online publishers and marketers. Thus, the upgrade for website owners from Genesis to Genesis 2.0 will bring a host of new features with it.

Website owners will notice a streamlined design aesthetic, improved SEO via stronger microdata, an enhanced mobile experience, additional security testing features, and backwards compatibility. The team at Copyblogger Media has also integrated HTML5 and CSS3 support. If your site uses XHTML, upgrading to HTML5 takes only one line of code input.

Current Genesis users need only click one button and they get the upgrade for free. New users can either purchase Genesis 2.0 by itself for $59.95 or in a package with every StudioPress child theme design for $349.95.
