DC’s AddThis Releases New Audience Targeting Tools to Help Websites Increase User Engagement

The Vienna, VA-based content engagement platform AddThis announced this morning that it has released a new set of audience targeting capabilities that will provide website owners with tools to deliver more personalized and relevant content to site visitors. Through this improved platform, AddThis users will be better positioned to improve user engagement and conversions, leading to overall increases in revenue.

“For decades now, website owners have been forced to create the same experience for every visitor that comes to their website. This makes it nearly impossible to deliver truly differentiated experiences and present targeted content recommendations and offers,” said general manager of website tools Charlie Reverte in a statement. “Our new audience targeting offering addresses these challenges so website owners can boost engagement and conversions.”

Through the new audience targeting tool, website owners are provided with increased capabilities in personalizing the Web experience for each of their site visitors. Per various factors – including from which other sites visitors are coming, what device they're using to view the site, what their previous online activities look like, and what their individual interests are – AddThis's targeting tool will enable site owners to offer specific coupons, content, or other calls to action. And, because this new tool does not require any coding on behalf of the site owner, it's simple to use and equally simple to tailor website experiences to a wide range of visitors.

AddThis currently has a data pool that reaches 98 percent of the overall Internet population in the United States, with website tools being used on more than 14 million websites across the globe – all totaling a whopping 1.8 billion unique users per month. Because of this mass availability of data at its hands, AddThis is capable of providing the most relevant, personalized content and recommendations to visitors of websites across several industries.

In February of this year, AddThis launched AddThis Pro, a subscription option that offers the ability to provide content recommendations, new analytics, and a responsive design for mobile. The new audience targeting tool is another step further into providing site owners with more methods to driving user engagement.
