New Health Insurance Knowledge Hub Launches for Open Enrollment

If you have a few socially conscious Facebook friends posting on your news feed, you've probably heard about the notable lack of advertising funds allocated to open enrollment for health insurance, which starts today and ends on December 15th. However, if you're one of 95 percent of uninsured Americans, you don't know that. Even if you are insured, there's a 75 percent chance you have no idea when open enrollment ends or even begins. Fortunately, someone is doing something about it.

Healthcare.com, a Miami-based online healthcare company focused on improving how consumers shop for and enroll in health insurance coverage, has refocused their efforts to make the health insurance process easier for everyone. By releasing a new healthcare-focused knowledge hub, they hope to bridge the gap for those without the information they need to make an informed decision.

“While the overall number of consumers purchasing insurance on their own has increased, consumers face a much more confusing Open Enrollment Period for ACA coverage,” said Howard Yeh, cofounder and CEO of HealthCare.com in a press release. “We’re trying to help Americans understand the major changes to this year’s open enrollment and guide them in making more-informed decisions.”

The platform is rife with helpful information that will guide you through your health insurance journey. From Medicare and small business policies to Obamacare and its alternatives, the new knowledge hub has everything you need to get covered for a price that works for you. And with some of the simplest user experience on the entire internet, there might finally be an easy option for healthcare. And honestly, it's about time.

“Understanding all the factors around health insurance is confusing, let alone how to shop for the right kind of coverage,” said Yeh. “For us, it’s important to make sure that consumers are fully aware of their specific needs and equally informed about their best options. Whether they’re seniors trying to understand and choose their Medicare coverage options or someone looking for Obamacare coverage, we want to help minimize their stress throughout the process.”

With apps like Facebook, Snapchat, and Tinder establishing simple UX as a staple of customer needs, this is a necessary step for the healthcare system. Simplicity is key for a population whose attention span has reached near goldfish-ian levels, and Healthcare.com is the only health insurance hub doing anything about it. So get over there and figured out how you can get insured today, beacuse you don't have a lot of time.

Remember! Open enrollment for health insurance is from November 1st to December 15th. Spread the word!
