The VegasTech scene, especially in downtown Las Vegas, has grown quite a bit in the last few years. Modeling after an entrepreneur-led idea, the VegasTechFund sought to fund startups that would bring leaders to the community to cultivate a healthy startup ecosystem. What followed was the continued redevelopment of the Downtown area, both from the Downtown Project and from entrepreneurs already active in the Las Vegas community. The folks behind the VegasTechFund created this helpful infographic to help tell the story of the depth of community and the result of the City as a Startup ideal.
“We have a really interesting, growing startup community and we felt an infographic would be a great way to set the scene for those interested in learning more,” said Sara Hill, Director of Entrepreneurship for VegasTechFund. “To get an accurate picture of the startup scene, we talked to new and long-time residents and key players, and received insight from entrepreneurs to investors. We also wanted to show how Vegas is a great place to start a company and so we included tax and cost of living information.”
Even though Las Vegas is a highly entrepreneurial metro area with many active tech developers and creators, this collection focuses on the Downtown Las Vegas scene since the most concentrated location of startups, activities, and events could be found there.
