Chicago based startup, WeDeliver, announced today that their newest product “WeDeliver Locally” is released to the public and available in the Apple Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android.
Locally is a mobile commerce app designed to help local businesses join the “shop local” movement that is sweeping the nation. Small Business Saturday is just around the corner, on November 29, and WeDeliver Locally is on a mission to help local businesses compete with giants like Amazon and Google by offering a digital shopping experience with on-demand delivery.
According to the company’s press release, “The WeDeliver Locally app provides local businesses with the first digital storefront where they can sell both their unique products and offer on-demand delivery. WeDeliver Locally also allows merchants to retain control of their brand, image and inventory from the convenience of a web-based platform. For consumers, WeDeliver Locally is the ultimate guide to shopping local and finding amazing products nearby, in addition to having them delivered on-demand. WeDeliver Locally has already secured over 40 of Chicago’s top local businesses to offer a variety of unique products from bakeries, restaurants, florists, retail, speciality stores and gourmet grocery.”
This is another celebration in a line of great things that the company has announced this year. In the spring of 2014, WeDeliver was one of the demo startups to receive a $100,000 investment from Steve Case on the Google for Entrepreneurs Demo Day. Most recently, WeDeliver completed TechStars Chicago, in what directors Troy Henikoff and Sam Yagan referred to as the “best class ever.”
WeDeliver has been at the forefront of the delivery space in Chicago since 2013 and is striving take the shop local movement mainstream. Jimmy Odom states “we are passionate about helping local businesses. We build tools to help them grow and connect with their customers.” But he adds that they will not stop with Chicago. “First we are partnering with Chicago’s favorite retailers to bring their most loyal consumers their very own digital main street. However, in 2015, we plan to not only triple the number of merchants on our platform but begin servicing additional markets as well.”
WeDeliver’s first product, WeDeliver for Business, provides an on-demand, same-day delivery service for local businesses by utilizing a web-based platform and crowd-sourced delivery fleet. WeDeliver’s continued growth is measured by partnerships with over 250+ local businesses and 300+ delivery specialists.
