With Black Hat in full swing and global cyber attacks making headlines more often than the Kardashians, the cybersecurity discussion is trending up in the business world and beyond. Large companies, small startups, and overly trusting individuals have been taken advantage of on a daily basis, leading to vulnerable systems across the board. And with cyber crime costs projected to reach $2 trillion in 2019, plenty of businesses have taken up the mantle of protecting you from hackers.

Thanks to Cybersecurity Ventures, we now have a comprehensive list of 500 cybersecurity companies, dubbed The Cybersecurity 500, that have joined the fight against cyber attacks. Whether it’s a huge company taking on hundreds of hackers at once or a small startup developing innovative technology to make cybersecurity easier for everyone, this list covers it all from A to Z.

“Since IT security is such a key, expanding market, it’s important to know who the top players are that are effectively tackling customer needs,” said Stu Sjouwerman, founder and CEO of KnowBe4, a security awareness training company on the list. “Organizations need to know who to put on their shortlist when assessing weak links and manage the problem of social engineering. The Cybersecurity 500 helps enterprises focus on innovative companies that are head and shoulders above the rest.”

If you didn’t already know, cybersecurity is incredibly important, particularly for startups. Hackers have increasingly taken aim at smaller companies in recent years, as their employees are often untrained and their cybersecurity measures paltry at best. And combatting this trend is going to take a lot of education, a lot of investment, and a lot of help from these 500 companies.

“Security awareness has evolved from training employees to a discipline that is just as complicated and important as any other in our field,” said Steve Morgan, founder and Editor-In-Chief at the Cybersecurity 500, in a press release.

For a look at the top 100 companies on the The Cybersecurity 500 list, check out the links below and make sure to check out the full list to really dive deep into the necessity of cybersecurity.
