Travel Made Easier with GoBaby, the Airbnb for Baby Gear

If you’re a parent that has trekked your young kids across the country on vacation for holiday or fun, you totally understand the hassle of lugging all the baby gear along with you. Just dealing with the pack-and-play and car seat alone is a nightmare. Been there, done that. Fortunately, there’s a startup that is making traveling easier on parents.

Brooklyn-based goBaby is simply the Airbnb for baby gear. They provide a baby equipment rental marketplace that offers family members and caregivers an easy way to rent strollers, car seats, cribs, and more, during their travels.

If you’re wondering about the quality of the items, goBaby makes sure all the baby gear is clean, checked for safety and recalls, and comes from verified families.

Jen Consalvo, COO of TechCo Media said, “As a mother of a toddler, renting baby gear during our travels saves us the hassle of carrying all the gear you need to keep her safe and comfortable. I rent everything I can to make it easy on us.”

Users can search the items at goBaby.co by location, dates, items they need and delivery/pickup information. Each product comes with information about the product with photos and reviews. Cribs, strollers, high chairs and bikes can run anywhere from 10 to 50 dollars depending on the brand and location.

Once you’ve found all the gear you need, simply submit a request, and upon approval, goBaby will place a temporary hold on your credit card for a security deposit. Depending on the renter, there might be a delivery option for an extra fee so you can have everything brought to your destination.

The company is currently in 27 states and growing daily. In the coming weeks they will also add a national recall check list feature to cross check the items for rent.

Boy do I wish this was around with my kids, the amount of stuff needed for a simple family trip was enough to make you stay at home. Now, goBaby.co has a simple solution so parents and grandparents can travel with a little less luggage and stress.
