Black Friday is over, and Cyber Monday is here, with many of us picking up bargain TVs, or early Christmas presents – but did you know that Cyber Monday is also a good time to get a great deal on a VPN?
Don't believe us? Check these out:
- 68% off NordVPN, plus 3 free month, for our top rated VPN
- 88% off a five year subscription to PureVPN
- Up to 76% off IPVanish
- 82% off CyberGhost
Now, we know that a VPN may not be quite as an exciting Cyber Monday purchase as an Xbox or iPad, but hear us out. 2020 has been a rather tumultuous year (you probably noticed), and with many of us spending more time at home than in the office, cyber attacks have actually increased this year, with many scammers trying to identify weak links and poor practices to exploit users.
So why a VPN? A VPN essentially adds another layer of protection to your online life by masking who you are. When you use a VPN, all your traffic, which holds a lot of information about you, is routed through a separate server to your standard ISP, and anonymised. This makes it exceptionally harder for criminals and hacker to access your information.
A VPN can also help you access sections of online services that might otherwise be cut off. The classic example here is Netflix. With a VPN, you can access the Netflix libraries of other countries, which can be quite different to the domestic service.
Sure, it's not very exciting, and you can't wrap it and put it under the tree at Christmas, but a VPN is an invaluable internet tool, and now is the best time to pick up a bargain.
