Let’s say you are in an unfamiliar area and you want to have a meal. You have multiple options: You could ask Siri for recommendations for nearby restaurants, you could call one of your friends to get suggestions for good places to go, you could hit up Yelp for ideas, or you can use Boozy, an app that collects Happy Hours, Daily Deals, and brunches. The latter option is especially useful if you are on a budget.
There is one good reason why Boozy works well in the areas it covers: convenience. First, you don’t need to search the Web for keywords such as “Happy Hours” or “bottomless.” The app includes a database of over 250 brunches and provides over 700 deals. There is a catch, though: It covers only the DC area. In other words, if you happen to be in New York, the app becomes useless.
Should you visit DC, you don’t have to worry about your meal: They are all there; you either choose one of the available categories – Top Picks, Happy Hour, Daily Deals, or Brunch – or use the search function. Pretty neat.
What’s important is that all this useful information is presented in an easy-to-understand, easy-to-navigate app optimized for the latest Apple hardware. When you launch the app you get nice visuals and relevant information. There is no room left for fluff, and that’s what I loved while using the app.
Of course, it comes with limitations: The app includes the deals from its partners, so there is a risk that you may miss an opportunity to eat at the most popular place in the area if it isn’t listed in the app, but this will improve as more restaurants join the Boozy database. And please, bring it to my town as well! Download Boozy for iOS from the App Store.
