The good news is that today is Halloween and there are buckets of candy and epic parties for the taking. The bad news is that it falls on a Thursday and most of the world has to go to work or school on Friday, even if your tummy hurts … or you’re hung over.
But don’t let that deter you from having an amazing time. You can still enjoy the heck out of your Halloween this year outside of dressing up in a costume. There are apps abound that will help you pass time at work, scare yourself, or scare your friends.
So play a few pranks, get prepared for your parties, and don’t let Halloween be boring. Here are nine cross-platform apps that will make this year’s Halloween awesome:
1. Halloween Horror Makeup ($1.06): If you’re tired of your boring ghost costume, make this year amazing by learning theater-quality makeup techniques. Each method for bruises, abrasions, or burns is illustrated step-by-step in detail so you can look like zombies enjoyed your face for lunch.
2. Scare Your Friends – Halloween (free): If you were ever cruel enough to scare your friends with the Scary Maze Game, then you probably would love a mobile version. Thankfully, somebody made one so you can horrify your friends, family, and co-workers on the go.
3. Halloween Soundlab ($0.99): Create a custom haunted house soundtrack with any of the 13 different sound loops. Use them individually or combine people speaking in tongues, lost souls crying for help, and screams of the wretched for ultimate horror.
4. ZombieBooth Pro ($2.99): If you were ever curious about what your face would look like if you joined the ranks of the living dead, now is your chance to find out. Take your photo and choose from over 500,000 zombie variations and animations. See your zombie face blink, scowl, and breathe!
5. Make A Zombie (free): Choose from backgrounds, bodies, clothes, eyes, hairstyles, heads, legs, and mouths to create the zombie of your dreams (or nightmares). There are millions of combinations to use and you can share them via Twitter or Facebook with all your zombie friends.
6. House of Horrors($0.99): If you’re too old for trick or treating and you don’t like to go to Halloween parties, stay at home instead. Use this app to access over 100 classic horror films straight to your device. For more fun, run an HDMI to your TV and enjoy these timeless movies on the big screen.
