GoToConnect was previously known as ‘Jive,' but rebranded and upgraded following its acquisition by the cloud software provider LogMeIn, as part of its suite of “GoTo” services. It now combines the best of VoIP technology and Web Conferencing, as seen in GoToMeeting. It's a remote communications platform that lets users handle audio and video calls, and even create an entirely cloud-based call center.
The enterprise-grade service's featureset covers all the VoIP basics a company might need, from analytics to call recording, and even the option for a conference bridge to allow small and large group calls.
One perk that makes it attractive to established enterprises: It offers integration with essential software packages including Zendesk, Outlook and Salesforce, allowing companies that have long relied on those services to easily fold GoToConnect into their routine.
Pricing is based on the size of the business. GoToConnect can cater for everyone from small startups to larger, more established businesses, with a cloud phone system that supports anywhere from 10 handsets to 100,000.
Overall, GoToConnect is a solid phone system provider with a wide range of features and integrations that make it flexible enough to appeal to any size of business.
The GoToConnect Cloud PBX system is available across devices, from desktop to tablet to mobile.
The Dial Plan Editor is a great feature unique to GoToConnect. It gives managers a software tool that they can use to create a visual diagram, determining what paths are available to those who call their business. The tool has a drag-and-drop interface allowing users to add boxes with titles like “wait,” “password,” “require user group,” or “leave voicemail,” among others. With this editor, businesses can easily figure out how to best redirect callers by creating a custom call flow.
Other perks of the service include custom hold music, custom greetings, and support for international calling.
Available for iPhone and Android, the GoToConnect Mobile app allows users to join meeting directly from their mobile device. It maintains an HD audio quality across a variety of LTE and network conditions.
All plans offer call management features including call routing, a caller ID service to identify who's calling, a Do Not Disturb feature, and a Find Me/Follow Me feature, which allows for calls to be routed through to several devices in order – including mobile devices.
Calls can be forwarded, put on hold, queued, or set to an auto attendant. Numbers can be ported and transferred, calls can be screened, and faxes can be received digitally.
GoToConnect also offers a video system, which integrates with the rest of its communication platform. Handy for one on one video calls, or conferencing with wider parties, the feature doesn’t require any dedicated hardware – you just need an internet connection and a connected device, whether a desktop PC or a mobile phone.
While communicating over video, callers can easily share documents and files too, all onscreen, with a few clicks of the mouse. Meeting participants are capped at 250, though HD video feeds are capped at 25. One-click screen sharing is also included, along with support for personal meeting rooms.
Call Center Capabilities
If you’re looking to run a contact center, but not sure you can afford the physical space for one, GoToConnect can provide the tools to do so virtually. Its setup offers all the features a successful contact center needs, but, like many top phone systems today, hosted in the cloud.
This includes real time report data, agent summary reports, and live status wallboards to track your call volumes, waiting times, agency efficiency, and so on. Over 180 desk phone models are supported, so the call center will more than likely work with your current handsets. You'll also get unlimited call queues, and accurate announcements for the current wait time before a given call can be received.
Setup and Customer Support
GoToConnect offers 24/7 support across all plans, with numerous ways to contact the company, including a toll free number, email support, and a support ticket system.
GoToConnect also has a dedicated online customer center on the GoTo site, where users can find support videos, factsheets and ebooks, chat, and forums, all designed to help with queries and offer assistance as quickly as possible.
Its range of online videos give step by step instructions for using its software and phone systems.
